Great win for our Bronze team against Durham!

On Friday 6th July, 12 bronze players travelled to Blackwell Grange Golf Club to play the annual match against Durham. Format for the day is 4 Ball Better Ball match play with no shots given or received. 6 matches set out.

The match was very exciting - great to watch with some super golf being played by both teams on an extremely hot and sunny day.

The result was a win for Northumberland - 3 1/2 to 2 1/2  and all came down to the last putt on the last hole.

Well done girls!!!

Vets Northern Championships at Stockport Golf Club - 22nd-24th May 2018

Ten Northumberland ladies went to Stockport to play in the Northern Championships. They were joined by Audrey Pattison - Vice Captain of the North, Julia Tate - Secretary of the North and Lesley Barnes - Treasurer of the North and stalwart supporter of the Vets, Committee member Gill Mason. Good fun was had by all!

The format for the Championship is an 18 hole qualifier on Tuesday followed by the top 16 gross scores qualifying for matchplay on Wednesday together with a 2nd flight of the next best 8 gross scores

There is also a fun Stableford team event following the matchplay for those who didn't manage to qualify.

The whole event was played in brilliant sunshine with just a slight breeze which helped it not be too oppressive!

Our Vice Captain, Liz Hartley was successful in progressing to the matchplay stage with a top 8 Gross score of 80.
Liz also received the 2nd Nett prize voucher with a Nett 70. Seen here receiving her prize from Ruth Lindley, Northern President.

Northumberland also had success in winning the Stableford event. The team of President, Sonia Kennedy and Carolyn Hall together with a Cheshire team Member Lis Wilson had a winning score of 74 points.

Results and more pictures can be seen on the "Northern Vets" and "Championship" section of the website.
